Job Description
Are you someone who enjoys being active and working outdoors? Loblaws in Woodbridge is looking for a dedicated and energetic Cart Collection Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers have a seamless shopping experience by maintaining an organized and accessible supply of shopping carts both inside and outside our store. This position offers a great opportunity to stay active, work in a dynamic environment, and contribute directly to customer satisfaction. We are seeking reliable individuals who are comfortable working in various weather conditions and have a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas, returning them safely and efficiently to designated cart corrals and the store.
- Organize and stack carts properly to prevent damage and ensure easy access for customers.
- Monitor cart availability throughout the store and parking lot, responding promptly to requests for additional carts.
- Assist with general store cleanliness and parking lot maintenance, including picking up litter and spills.
- Report any damaged carts or safety hazards to management immediately.
- Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers as needed, maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies during cart collection and while in the parking lot.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Basic communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with store layout and parking lot procedures.
- Ability to operate a cart-retrieval machine (training provided if necessary).
