Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Assist clients with safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with basic vital sign monitoring.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversation, reading, and hobbies.
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Document care provided accurately and communicate any changes in client's condition or needs to the nursing supervisor.
- Adhere to all BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and client care plans.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of documented caregiver experience (in-home or facility)
- CPR certification (current or ability to obtain prior to employment)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification
- Experience with clients requiring specialized care (e.g., dementia, Parkinson's)
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
