Job Description
Are you an energetic individual who loves to stay active and enjoys working outdoors? Safeway is seeking a dedicated Supermarket Trolley Auditor to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. This unique role involves ensuring our customers always have access to clean, safe, and functional shopping trolleys. You’ll be the eyes and ears on the ground, making sure our equipment meets the highest standards of quality and availability across our store locations. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive pay, offering a great way to stay fit while contributing to a seamless shopping experience for our valued customers. You will be responsible for meticulously inspecting trolleys, documenting their condition, and reporting any maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, thorough inspections of all shopping trolleys at designated Safeway locations.
- Identify and document any signs of damage, wear and tear, or malfunction (e.g., wobbly wheels, broken handles, rusted frames).
- Assess trolley cleanliness and arrange for cleaning as needed.
- Accurately record audit findings using a provided mobile device or system.
- Report maintenance or repair needs promptly to the appropriate department.
- Ensure an adequate supply of operational trolleys is available for customer use throughout the day.
- Work independently and efficiently in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and observation skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently outdoors for extended periods.
- Good physical stamina and ability to walk, stand, push, and lift trolleys as required.
- Basic data entry and reporting skills (ability to use a mobile app or simple software).
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a quality control, auditing, or outdoor field role is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management or equipment inspection processes.
- Comfortable using mobile applications for data collection.
