Job Description
Swift Transportation is seeking experienced and dedicated Regional Flatbed Drivers to join our team in Pasco, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for professional drivers who excel in challenging environments and are committed to safe and efficient freight delivery. As a Regional Flatbed Driver, you will be responsible for transporting various types of freight, securing loads with tarps and straps, and ensuring timely deliveries across a designated region. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (Class A CDL) in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport flatbed freight over regional routes, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Properly secure and tarp loads to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and submit all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including those specific to flatbed operations (e.g., load securement, tarping).
- Represent Swift Transportation professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, bending, and tarping loads (up to 75 lbs)
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous flatbed driving experience
- Experience with various load securement techniques
- HazMat endorsement (not required, but a plus)
- TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
