Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Heavy Rigging Supervisor to lead our operations in Spokane, WA. This critical role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of heavy rigging operations on complex construction and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, project timelines, and budgetary requirements. You will lead and mentor rigging crews, conduct meticulous pre-lift planning, comprehensive risk assessments, and thorough equipment inspections. This position demands exceptional leadership, profound technical expertise in heavy lifting, and an unwavering commitment to operational excellence and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise rigging crews during all heavy lift and specialized transport operations.
- Develop and implement detailed lift plans, method statements, and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices, including OSHA standards.
- Inspect rigging equipment, cranes, jacking systems, and lifting accessories for defects and compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate seamlessly with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure flawless project execution.
- Provide on-site technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior riggers and all crew members.
- Manage site logistics, scheduling, and efficient resource allocation for all rigging tasks.
- Conduct thorough post-lift reviews and generate comprehensive operational and safety reports.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in heavy rigging supervision, with a proven track record.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex lift planning, execution, and critical lift procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy lift equipment, including various types of cranes, jacking systems, and specialized transport equipment.
- Strong understanding and practical application of OSHA regulations and international industry safety standards.
- Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, rigging plots, load charts, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in conducting thorough risk assessments and developing effective mitigation strategies.
- Valid rigging certification (e.g., NCCCO Rigger Level II, or equivalent internationally recognized certification).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience managing or supervising international projects and working with diverse workforces.
- Advanced certifications in specific rigging techniques, heavy equipment operation, or safety management.
- Proficiency with project management software and CAD tools for lift planning.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
