Job Description
Are you passionate about helping others improve their English conversational skills? Do you enjoy engaging in diverse discussions and creating a supportive learning environment? Preply is looking for enthusiastic Online Language Practice Partners to join our growing community. This 100% remote role involves facilitating informal, conversational practice sessions with learners who want to enhance their fluency and confidence. You don’t need formal teaching qualifications; your main goal is to encourage natural conversation, provide gentle feedback, and make learning enjoyable. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who love connecting with people from around the world and working from the comfort of their home.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and natural conversational practice sessions with learners.
- Create a comfortable and encouraging environment for language practice.
- Listen actively and provide constructive, gentle feedback on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar when appropriate.
- Adapt conversation topics and pace to the learner's interests and proficiency level.
- Encourage learners to speak freely and express themselves without fear of judgment.
- Manage your schedule and session bookings efficiently through the Preply platform.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong active listening abilities
- Patience and empathy towards language learners
- Cultural sensitivity and an open-minded approach
- Reliable internet connection and basic computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or coaching roles (informal or formal)
- Familiarity with online learning platforms
- Knowledge of various language learning strategies
- Ability to converse on a wide range of topics
- Multilingualism is a plus but not required
