Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote Microsoft Licensing Specialist to join our business support team. This role is critical in guiding our clients and internal stakeholders through the complexities of Microsoft licensing models, ensuring compliance, and maximizing the value of their software investments. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic advice and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation on Microsoft licensing programs, products, and services (e.g., M365, Azure, Dynamics 365, on-premises).
- Analyze client needs and recommend optimal Microsoft licensing solutions that align with their business objectives and budget.
- Assist in the preparation and review of licensing proposals, quotes, and contracts.
- Stay current with changes and updates to Microsoft licensing policies, programs, and product offerings.
- Educate sales teams, account managers, and clients on licensing options and best practices.
- Help resolve complex licensing inquiries and disputes, working directly with Microsoft when necessary.
- Contribute to the development of internal training materials and resources related to Microsoft licensing.
- Identify opportunities for license optimization and cost savings for clients.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience specializing in Microsoft software licensing.
- In-depth understanding of various Microsoft licensing programs (e.g., Enterprise Agreement, CSP, Open Value, SPLA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft product stacks, including M365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Dynamics 365.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex topics clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, distributed team.
- Customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Licensing Solutions Specialist (or equivalent certification).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working for a Microsoft partner or a large enterprise with significant Microsoft licensing portfolio.
- Familiarity with licensing management tools and software asset management (SAM) best practices.
