Job Description
Are you passionate about language, artificial intelligence, and improving machine learning models? Appen is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Online AI Language Specialists to join our remote team. In this flexible, part-time role, you will play a crucial part in training AI systems to understand, process, and generate human language more effectively. Your work will directly impact the quality and accuracy of leading AI-powered applications, from virtual assistants to translation tools. This position is 100% remote, offering the flexibility to work from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various language-based tasks to improve AI model performance, including data annotation, text categorization, and linguistic validation.
- Evaluate the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated text and speech.
- Identify linguistic nuances, cultural contexts, and potential biases in data.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to enhance AI understanding of language.
- Adhere to project guidelines and quality standards to ensure high-quality data outputs.
- Collaborate with project managers and fellow specialists on task-related inquiries.
Required Skills
- Exceptional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in at least one other language (bilingual bonus applies).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent comprehension and interpretation abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines in a remote environment.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate online tools and platforms.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in linguistics, translation, content moderation, or data annotation.
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Languages, Communications, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or natural language processing (NLP) concepts.
