Job Description

Join Express Scripts as a Central Fill Pharmacy Technician with a focus on high-volume production. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in processing and dispensing thousands of prescriptions daily within our state-of-the-art automated central fill facility. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly structured production environment. You will work with cutting-edge technology to ensure timely and precise medication delivery to our members, upholding the highest standards of patient safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain automated dispensing and packaging equipment to fill high volumes of prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform data entry of prescription information into the pharmacy system, verifying patient and medication details.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy, proper labeling, and packaging prior to shipment.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical products.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance as needed, escalating complex problems to technicians or supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, DEA, FDA, state boards of pharmacy).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with sterile and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and achieve daily production goals.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a high-volume or production setting.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for prescription calculations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from the PTCB or equivalent.
  • Experience with automated pharmacy systems (e.g., ScriptPro, Parata).
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
