Job Description
Join our vibrant team as a Leisure Centre Assistant at Coventry City Council and play a key role in the daily operations of our state-of-the-art leisure facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise users in and around the leisure facilities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and codes of conduct.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for various activities and events.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the centre, including changing rooms, public areas, and activity spaces.
- Provide excellent customer service, including greeting visitors, answering queries, and handling bookings and payments.
- Monitor facility usage and report any maintenance issues or incidents promptly.
- Administer first aid when necessary (training provided).
- Support the delivery of recreational programmes and activities.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Basic IT literacy for handling bookings and enquiries.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as setting up equipment and responding to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or leisure environment.
- A relevant qualification in sport, leisure, or customer service.
- First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience handling cash and operating till systems.
