Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Specialist with a keen focus on autonomous technology to join our innovative team at UPS. This is a fully remote position (Work From Home) where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our fleet operations. You will be instrumental in analyzing current logistics processes, identifying opportunities for the integration of autonomous solutions, and contributing to the strategic development and deployment of next-generation fleet technologies. This role requires a blend of logistics expertise, analytical prowess, and a forward-thinking mindset regarding emerging tech in transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current fleet logistics and supply chain operations to identify areas for efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
- Research and evaluate emerging autonomous vehicle technologies and their potential application within UPS fleet operations.
- Develop strategic recommendations for the phased integration of autonomous technologies into our existing logistics framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, operations, and external partners on autonomous tech pilot programs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet efficiency, autonomous vehicle performance, and operational costs.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project progress, findings, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in autonomous transportation.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and best practices for the adoption of new fleet technologies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or fleet operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of autonomous vehicle technologies, telematics, and their practical applications in logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting complex information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale fleet management systems and transportation management software (TMS).
- Prior experience working with or implementing autonomous or semi-autonomous technologies in a logistics context.
- Certifications in logistics (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) or project management (e.g., PMP).
