Job Description
Join H-E-B as a High School Delivery Runner and become a vital part of our local delivery team in Round Rock, TX! This entry-level position is perfect for students looking for part-time work, offering valuable experience in logistics and customer service without requiring a personal vehicle. You’ll be responsible for efficiently delivering groceries and other H-E-B products to customers within a designated local radius, primarily by foot or bike (company-provided, if applicable, or personal bike). Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver customer orders to their homes or designated drop-off points within a local delivery zone.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure all items are accounted for before delivery.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with store staff regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, whether walking or biking.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery area or equipment.
- Assist with in-store tasks such as order picking or staging during down times, as needed.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent educational program.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to navigate local areas efficiently.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or delivery role (e.g., paper route, volunteer work).
- Familiarity with the Round Rock area.
- Enthusiasm for physical activity and outdoor work.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
