Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Arlington Heights. In this role, you will be an essential part of our pharmacy operations, working closely with pharmacists and patients to provide exceptional customer service and support. This position offers stable hours and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, friendly environment where your contributions are valued. You will assist with prescription processing, inventory management, and patient interactions, ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, including receiving and verifying prescription orders.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Compound medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications.
- Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workspace.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and company policies.
- Operate cash register and handle financial transactions accurately.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Illinois (or ability to obtain).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Previous experience working in a retail or community pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxOne, Krol, etc.).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
