Job Description
Empire Today is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our professional installation team as a Flooring Underlay Installer Assistant. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced lead installer, learning the trade and contributing to the successful installation of various flooring types, primarily focusing on underlayment preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to start a career in the flooring industry, offering on-the-job training and a clear path for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers in preparing job sites for flooring installation, including moving furniture and removing old flooring materials.
- Measure, cut, and install underlayment materials accurately according to specifications.
- Help transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of debris.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Learn and apply best practices for various flooring installation techniques.
- Communicate effectively with lead installers and customers on site.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the installation team.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable transportation to reach job sites.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Excellent work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Physical stamina and endurance for prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, general labor, or a related trade.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with various flooring types (carpet, laminate, vinyl, hardwood).
