Job Description

You will work closely with pharmacists and experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience in medication dispensing, inventory management, patient interactions, and adherence to pharmacy regulations within our outpatient clinics. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists and certified technicians in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications for outpatient clinical settings.
  • Learn and accurately perform medication data entry, label generation, and prescription fulfillment processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in training programs and educational modules to develop foundational pharmacy knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as Atrium Health policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the processing of insurance claims and patient billing inquiries under supervision.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
  • Prepare for and work towards obtaining Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., PTCB) within a specified timeframe.
