Job Description

Join the Graham Construction team as a Drywall / Plasterer’s Assistant in Saskatoon! This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the construction trade. You will work indoors on various commercial and institutional projects, assisting our skilled drywallers and plasterers with a variety of tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drywallers and plasterers with all aspects of interior finishing.
  • Help with the preparation of surfaces, including cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation.
  • Mix and apply plaster or joint compound.
  • Sand finished surfaces to prepare for painting.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at the job site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools are properly stored.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other general labour duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in drywall and plastering.
  • Punctuality and a commitment to attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on a construction site (even general labour).
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
