Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and passionate Live Sound Technician with a knack for delivering flawless audio experiences? Production Resource Group (PRG), a global leader in entertainment and event technology, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our touring division. In this role, you will be a critical part of our team, traveling nationwide to support large-scale concerts and events, ensuring exceptional sound quality for both artists and audiences.

As a Live Sound Technician focusing on Concert & Tour, you will be instrumental in the entire audio production process, from intricate system design and setup to precision live mixing and post-show breakdown. Your expertise will guarantee that every note and spoken word is delivered with clarity and impact, enhancing the immersive experience that PRG is renowned for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with the design, setup, calibration, and optimization of complex FOH and monitor audio systems for concerts and touring productions.
  • Operate various digital and analog mixing consoles with precision during live performances.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues quickly and efficiently on-site.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with tour managers, artists, venue staff, and internal production teams to meet all audio requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inventory, and secure packing of audio equipment to ensure tour readiness.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Manage signal flow, gain structure, and system integration for diverse event types.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 36 months of professional experience as a Live Sound Technician, preferably in a touring or large-scale concert environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard digital and analog mixing consoles (e.g., DiGiCo, Avid VENUE, Yamaha CL/QL Series).
  • Expertise in the rigging, deployment, and optimization of line array speaker systems from manufacturers like L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, or Meyer Sound.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of signal flow, gain structure, microphone techniques, and acoustic principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with the proven ability to travel extensively for extended periods.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and composure under high-pressure, live event scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Dante Level 3, QSC Q-SYS, or OSHA 30.
  • Advanced experience with wireless microphone coordination, RF spectrum management, and in-ear monitor systems.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience working with large-scale music festivals or international touring acts.
