Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Backup Childcare Providers to join our team in Rancho Cucamonga. This is an on-call position offering a high hourly rate, perfect for individuals looking for flexible work arrangements while making a meaningful impact. As a Backup Childcare Provider, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and engaging activities for children of various ages in clients’ homes or designated facilities on an as-needed basis. We are looking for reliable, adaptable, and experienced individuals who can step in to support families when their regular childcare arrangements are unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, nurturing, and engaging care for children of all ages, from infants to school-aged.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including creative play, educational games, and outdoor adventures.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for children.
- Prepare meals and snacks, adhering to any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Assist with homework and school-related activities as needed.
- Follow established routines and schedules provided by families.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding children's day and any relevant observations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Be available for scheduled on-call shifts and respond promptly to childcare requests.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable childcare experience (e.g., nannying, daycare, babysitting, teaching assistant).
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage children in stimulating and educational activities.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, often with short notice, as an on-call provider.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience with diverse age groups, including infants and toddlers.
- Knowledge of child development stages and age-appropriate educational practices.
- Previous experience in an on-call or substitute care role.
- Multilingual abilities.
