Slalom is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Infrastructure Aide to join our growing team in Cincinnati. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with a foundational understanding of IT principles who are passionate about learning and contributing to enterprise-level cloud infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers, assisting in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, with a particular emphasis on AWS services that support high-availability, scalable applications. While direct experience with Netflix infrastructure isn’t required, a keen interest in large-scale streaming or data platforms and a desire to understand how companies like Netflix leverage AWS is a significant plus. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with the deployment and configuration of AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and health using AWS CloudWatch and other tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patch management and system updates.
- Troubleshoot basic cloud infrastructure issues and escalate complex problems to appropriate teams.
- Document cloud configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Support the implementation of security best practices within cloud environments.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Learn and apply AWS best practices, with an eye towards high-scale, resilient architectures.
