Job Description
Are you a motivated 16-year-old looking for your first job experience in a dynamic retail environment? Target in Cedar Rapids is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Stockroom Associate focused on Inventory Management. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop essential skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our store. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our sales floor is well-stocked and our inventory is accurately managed, directly impacting our ability to serve our guests efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming merchandise efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, ensuring items are stored safely and logically.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays on the sales floor with new merchandise.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling.
- Support team members with various tasks to ensure a clean and organized store.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leaders regarding stock levels and needs.
Required Skills
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 25-50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling products.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and processing.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
