Job Description
Are you passionate about healthcare and looking for a foundational role to launch your career? CVS Health is seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Pharmacy Tech to join our team in Burbank, CA. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience in pharmacy, offering a structured career path and comprehensive training. You will work closely with licensed pharmacists and experienced pharmacy technicians, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting. This role is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to become a certified Pharmacy Technician and build a successful career in the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications, including counting, pouring, measuring, and labeling.
- Process prescription orders and manage patient profiles accurately under pharmacist supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace.
- Manage inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Handle cash register transactions and assist patients with point-of-sale activities.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
- Actively participate in training programs and seek opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service role
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish)
- Familiarity with medical terminology
