Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this vital role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of pharmaceutical services to our patients. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, including accurate data entry, counting, pouring, measuring, and labeling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory effectively, encompassing ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies to minimize waste.
- Process prescription refills and meticulously manage patient profiles, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Provide exceptional customer service, professionally addressing patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and clarity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Process insurance claims and accurately handle cash register transactions, ensuring compliance with all financial procedures.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice and patient privacy.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with patients and colleagues
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with data entry systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Ohio Pharmacy Technician registration or certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Foundational knowledge of pharmacy laws and medical terminology
- Experience with pharmacy management software systems
