Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Miami team as a Weekend Airport Hand. This part-time position offers competitive weekly pay and operates in a high-traffic airport environment, crucial for ensuring smooth operations during peak weekend hours. You will be instrumental in assisting with various ground support tasks, contributing to the efficient flow of baggage, cargo, and passenger services. This role is perfect for energetic individuals looking for a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to be part of the global aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of luggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate and drive ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, and other vehicles, as trained and certified.
- Guide aircraft to and from parking stands using appropriate hand signals and communication.
- Perform routine safety checks on equipment and ensure work areas are clear and safe.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment on the airport ramp and around aircraft.
- Communicate effectively with team members, airline personnel, and other airport staff.
- Strictly adhere to all airport safety, security, and operational regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work weekends and holidays, and commit to a part-time schedule.
- Physical fitness: capability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 70 lbs) and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance with operational procedures, and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, such as logistics, warehousing, or outdoor manual labor.
- Familiarity with airport operations, aviation terminology, or ground handling procedures.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
