Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and active individual to join our team as a Restaurant Ice Machine Restocker. This crucial role involves ensuring all ice machines across our restaurant locations in Glasgow are consistently stocked, clean, and operating efficiently. You will be responsible for transporting bulk ice, managing inventory, and performing routine maintenance to ensure a constant supply of ice for our beverages and food preparation. This is a physically demanding role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor ice levels in all restaurant ice machines and restock as needed.
- Transport large quantities of ice from storage areas to various machines using appropriate equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of ice machines and storage bins according to hygiene standards.
- Inspect ice machines for any malfunctions or maintenance issues and report them promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of ice inventory and usage.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and handling of equipment.
- Assist with other general back-of-house tasks as required to support restaurant operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of ice storage areas.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for an active role.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, warehouse, or similar physical role.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Valid UK driving license (if responsible for transporting ice between multiple locations).
