In this position, you will be instrumental in ensuring our guests have a seamless and enjoyable shopping journey, while also developing the leadership skills necessary to guide and inspire a team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong retail background who is eager to contribute to a positive store environment and grow into a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by actively engaging with guests, identifying their needs, and providing accurate product information and solutions.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale, including returns, exchanges, and special orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring products are stocked, displayed correctly, and priced accurately.
- Support inventory management activities, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
- Train and mentor new team members, sharing best practices for customer engagement and operational tasks.
- Act as a go-to person for complex customer inquiries or operational challenges, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with store leadership to implement merchandising strategies and promotional events.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by fostering open communication and mutual respect.
- Learn and apply leadership principles, preparing for future Team Lead responsibilities, including opening/closing procedures and task delegation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail sales or customer service role.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and build rapport with guests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in operating POS systems and handling cash transactions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role within retail.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and retail merchandising.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor peers.
- Associate's degree or relevant college coursework.
