Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Output Verifier to join our ‘Smart Working’ team in Portsmouth. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports and data before they are finalised and distributed. As a Financial Output Verifier, you will play a key role in our quality assurance process, identifying discrepancies, cross-referencing information, and collaborating with various departments to rectify errors. This ‘Smart Working Role’ offers flexibility while maintaining high standards of output quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial outputs, including reports, statements, and data summaries.
- Perform detailed checks and cross-references against source documents and internal systems.
- Identify and document discrepancies or errors in financial data.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and project teams to investigate and resolve identified issues.
- Ensure all financial outputs comply with relevant internal policies and external regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of verification processes and findings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification procedures and tools.
- Assist in the preparation of audit-ready documentation related to financial outputs.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a 'Smart Working' environment.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a data verification, auditing, or financial analysis role.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Experience in a professional services or large corporate environment.
