Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical City Map GPS Analyst to join our remote navigation team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our global mapping data, specifically focusing on urban environments. You will analyze GPS data, satellite imagery, and various geospatial information to identify discrepancies, validate map features, and contribute to the improvement of our navigation products. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US while collaborating with a diverse global team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets of GPS traces, satellite imagery, and street-level photography to identify mapping errors and areas for improvement.
  • Validate the accuracy of road networks, points of interest, addressing, and other map features.
  • Utilize internal tools and software to edit and update geographic data, ensuring high precision and consistency.
  • Investigate user-reported issues and feedback related to map accuracy and navigation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define data collection strategies and improve data quality processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with current mapping technologies, data standards, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in interpreting geographic data, maps, and satellite imagery.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and its applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, or a related field.
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Prior experience in map data analysis, validation, or creation.
  • Familiarity with SQL or scripting languages for data manipulation.
  • Understanding of routing algorithms and navigation principles.
