Job Description
Are you a dog lover with a passion for creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for our furry friends? PetSmart in Kitsilano is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Dog Daycare Supervisor to lead our pack. This role is perfect for someone with high energy, excellent organizational skills, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare. You will oversee daily operations, manage a team of daycare attendants, and ensure every dog has a tail-wagging good time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the dog daycare, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for all dogs.
- Manage and mentor a team of Dog Daycare Attendants, including scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
- Implement and enforce playgroup management techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Conduct temperament evaluations for new dogs and ensure appropriate group placements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the daycare facility.
- Handle customer inquiries, manage bookings, and provide exceptional customer service to pet parents.
- Administer basic first aid and medication as needed, and recognize signs of illness or injury.
- Ensure all dogs receive adequate exercise, socialization, and attention.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional dog daycare or animal care setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent understanding of dog behavior, body language, and group dynamics.
- Ability to manage a large group of dogs safely and effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification for pets (or willingness to obtain).
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in dog training or animal behavior.
- Experience with various dog breeds and temperaments.
- Proficiency in pet care software systems.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience.
