Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Epidemiology & Biostatistics Intern to join our dynamic research team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in public health research, working alongside leading experts in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, enhancing their skills in quantitative methods and public health surveillance. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world research setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection, cleaning, and management for various public health research projects.
- Conduct preliminary statistical analyses using software such as R, SAS, or Stata under supervision.
- Support the development of research protocols, questionnaires, and data collection tools.
- Contribute to literature reviews and synthesis of existing evidence.
- Prepare tables, figures, and summaries of research findings for reports, presentations, and publications.
- Participate in team meetings, research seminars, and workshops.
- Ensure data confidentiality and adherence to ethical research guidelines.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master's or PhD program in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of epidemiological principles and biostatistical methods.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, SPSS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organize data effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large datasets and complex statistical models.
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Prior experience in public health research or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of health economics or health policy.
