Job Description
Are you a natural conversationalist with a passion for online communities? Discord Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Online Community Greeter to be the first point of contact for new members joining our various forums and Discord servers. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in setting a positive tone, helping new users navigate our platforms, and ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from day one. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to make a significant impact on community engagement and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively greet new members across designated forums and Discord channels with personalized welcome messages.
- Answer basic questions from new users regarding platform features, rules, and community guidelines.
- Guide new members to relevant channels, resources, or FAQs to help them get started.
- Monitor new member introductions and facilitate initial conversations.
- Identify and report any immediate issues or inappropriate behavior to community moderators.
- Collaborate with the community management team to enhance the onboarding experience for new users.
- Collect feedback from new members to help improve community programs and resources.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency and active participation in online forums and Discord platforms.
- A friendly, empathetic, and patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines.
- Basic understanding of online community etiquette and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in community moderation, customer service, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with various online community tools and platforms.

- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
