Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Elevator / Escalator Mechanic to join our team in Weston-super-Mare. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on elevator and escalator systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Execute repairs, adjustments, and replacements of components as necessary.
- Respond to service calls and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service activities.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with industry advancements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance, preferably in a heavy industrial or field service environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically with elevators, escalators, or similar vertical transportation systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering, F-Gas).
- A formal qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
