Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Inventory Shuttle Driver to perform short-haul warehouse runs. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient transfer of inventory between our local warehouse facilities. This position requires attention to detail for inventory manifests, adherence to all traffic laws, and maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of your assigned vehicle. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles to transport inventory and materials between designated warehouse locations within a short radius.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Load and unload materials as needed, ensuring proper securing of cargo for safe transit.
- Verify accuracy of inventory manifests and delivery documentation before and after each run.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and perform minor routine maintenance checks.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and dispatch regarding pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as organizing, moving, or locating inventory when driving duties are complete.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C driver's license (or equivalent, appropriate for vehicle type)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Familiarity with local Antioch/Bay Area roadways
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment
