Job Description

Specsavers in Southampton is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team as an Optical Assistant. No previous experience in optics is required! We believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training to help you build a successful career in the optical industry. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers with a friendly and professional approach.
- Help customers choose frames and lenses that best suit their needs and style.
- Perform pre-screening tests for eye examinations (e.g., visual field screening, auto-refraction) after comprehensive training.
- Explain product features, benefits, and special offers clearly and accurately.
- Handle administrative tasks such as booking appointments and managing patient records.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store and optical displays.
- Work collaboratively with Optometrists and other team members to ensure a smooth customer journey.
- Learn and apply optical dispensing techniques and product knowledge.

- Basic computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, hospitality).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
