Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Electric Vehicle (EV) Powertrain Intern to join our innovative engineering team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge EV powertrain components and systems. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to critical projects that shape the future of electric mobility. This role is ideal for students passionate about sustainable transportation and eager to apply their academic knowledge in a dynamic, real-world setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and simulation of EV powertrain components (e.g., electric motors, inverters, gearboxes).
  • Support testing and validation activities for EV powertrain systems, including data acquisition and analysis.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of control algorithms for EV powertrains.
  • Conduct research on emerging EV technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations on project progress and findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of electrical circuits, power electronics, and mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of EV powertrain architectures and components.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for basic design tasks.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS) for analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with automotive projects or FSAE/Formula Student teams.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS) or thermal management for EVs.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
  • Demonstrated interest in electric vehicles and sustainable technologies through coursework or personal projects.
