Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams in Regina. This pivotal role involves overseeing the full software development lifecycle, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure financial technology solutions. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical roadmap, fostering a culture of excellence, and mentoring engineers to achieve their full potential. This position requires a full executive relocation to Regina, Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of critical software systems and applications.
- Define and implement best practices for software development, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
- Collaborate with product management, business stakeholders, and other engineering leaders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing regular feedback, career guidance, and performance reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all security, regulatory, and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript) and related frameworks.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
- Experience in the financial services industry or with large-scale enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
