Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented UPS Inventory Analyst with a strong focus on Business Intelligence to join our team in Joliet, IL. This role is crucial for optimizing our inventory management strategies, ensuring efficient supply chain operations, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will leverage business intelligence tools and data analysis techniques to monitor inventory levels, identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend actions to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with various departments to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to visualize inventory performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Forecast inventory needs based on historical data, market trends, and operational plans.
- Collaborate with warehousing, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory counts and efficient stock movement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, turns, and obsolescence.
- Participate in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and systems.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to management for improving inventory processes and reducing costs.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in inventory analysis, supply chain analytics, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik Sense.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and translate data into actionable insights.
- Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Certification in supply chain (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting methods.
