Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and vigilant Online Social Media Aide to provide light moderation for online communities frequented by 13-year-old teens. This fully remote, part-time position is crucial for maintaining a positive, respectful, and safe digital environment. You will play a key role in ensuring interactions align with community guidelines, promoting healthy online habits, and gently guiding young users toward constructive engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor online discussions and user-generated content for compliance with established community guidelines.
- Identify and address instances of inappropriate language, bullying, or other negative behaviors through light moderation techniques.
- Respond to user reports regarding concerns or rule violations in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Promote positive interactions and reinforce a culture of respect and inclusivity within online spaces.
- Escalate serious or persistent issues to senior moderation staff for further review and action.
- Provide constructive feedback and insights on user behavior patterns and platform safety features.
- Stay informed about current online trends and challenges affecting teenagers.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of online safety principles and digital etiquette.
- High degree of empathy, patience, and discretion when interacting with young users and sensitive content.
- Ability to identify and appropriately address a range of online behaviors, from minor infractions to more serious concerns.
