Job Description
Join UPS as a CDL-A Feeder Driver and become a vital part of our robust logistics network. This role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to transport freight between various UPS facilities, hubs, and customer locations. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of goods, contributing directly to our promise of reliable delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport freight between UPS facilities, hubs, and designated customer locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
- Hook and unhook trailers, ensuring proper connection and securement.
- Maintain accurate records, including logbooks, vehicle reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while prioritizing safety and compliance.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with doubles/triples endorsements
- Hazardous materials (Hazmat) endorsement
- Experience operating in various weather conditions
- Proven track record of safe driving practices
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
