Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Music Content Moderator with a strong focus on streaming safety to join our global Trust & Safety team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute to a safer streaming environment from anywhere in the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing user-generated content, identifying and actioning violations of our community guidelines, and contributing to the overall safety and integrity of the Spotify platform. Your work will directly impact the millions of users and creators who rely on Spotify for their audio experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Review and moderate user-generated music content, comments, and related metadata to ensure compliance with Spotify's community guidelines and terms of service.
- Identify, investigate, and take appropriate action on reported violations, including explicit content, hate speech, harassment, misinformation, and copyright infringement.
- Utilize internal tools and systems to accurately log and track moderation decisions and trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including policy, legal, and product, to provide insights and feedback on emerging content trends and policy effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay informed about policy updates, new content formats, and evolving safety challenges.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation processes and tools.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in content review while managing a consistent workload.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, capable of making sound judgments based on complex guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Proficiency in using online moderation tools and comfortable with technology.
- High level of empathy and understanding of diverse user experiences and cultural sensitivities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or a related field.
- Familiarity with various music genres and cultural trends.
- Experience working in a remote environment.
- Knowledge of internet safety principles and online community management.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
