Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Downey, CA. This position offers flexible full-time and part-time shifts to accommodate various schedules, with an immediate vacancy for the right candidate. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient profiling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Maintain patient records and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering patient questions and resolving issues.
- Operate pharmacy systems and equipment, including point-of-sale systems and automated dispensing machines.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all regulatory standards.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash register balances.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve prescription-related issues.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in California (CPhT preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and pharmacy software
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting
- Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations and workflow
- Experience with pharmacy management systems (e.g., RxConnect)
