Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Database Engineer with a strong focus on SQL to join our AI Data team in Georgetown, Washington D.C. This role is crucial in supporting our advanced AI initiatives by ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and integrity of our critical data infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and other database professionals to optimize data pipelines, manage databases, and implement solutions that drive our cutting-edge AI products. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and data warehousing solutions.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for performance and scalability.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient database designs.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data ingestion and ETL processes.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company standards.
- Participate in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Document database schemas, processes, and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar).
- Fundamental understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) concepts.
- Experience with database design, normalization, and indexing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Exposure to scripting languages like Python for data manipulation or automation.
