Job Description
We are seeking a highly accomplished and passionate Specialized Piano Instructor to join our esteemed faculty at Vivaldi Music Academy – The Woodlands. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with exceptional pedagogical skills and a deep understanding of piano performance and theory. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized piano instruction to a diverse student body, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, with a focus on preparing students for examinations, competitions, and professional performances. This role demands a commitment to nurturing talent, fostering a love for music, and contributing to the vibrant artistic community of our conservatory. Our instructors are compensated commensurate with their expertise and the specialized nature of their role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert one-on-one and small group piano instruction tailored to individual student needs and goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans, repertoire selections, and practice strategies for students.
- Prepare students for various performances, recitals, examinations (e.g., ABRSM, RCM), and competitions.
- Evaluate student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and academy events.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement initiatives.
- Stay current with best practices in piano pedagogy and music education.
- Manage scheduling and administrative tasks related to student lessons.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience teaching piano to students of various ages and skill levels.
- Exceptional piano performance abilities and deep knowledge of piano repertoire, theory, and history.
- Proven ability to motivate students and foster a lifelong appreciation for music.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate (DMA) in Piano Performance or Pedagogy.
- Experience with advanced pedagogical methods and technologies.
- A track record of students achieving high honors in examinations or competitions.
- Professional performance experience as a pianist.
- Certification from recognized music education bodies (e.g., MTNA, RCM).
