Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Stable Cleaner to join our team for morning shifts. This role is crucial to the daily operations of our equestrian centre, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our horses. If you have a genuine love for horses, are reliable, and possess a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our stables and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Mucking out stables thoroughly and efficiently.
- Replenishing bedding, hay, and water for horses.
- Sweeping and tidying communal areas, feed rooms, and tack rooms.
- Assisting with basic yard duties as required, such as turning out/bringing in horses (after training).
- Ensuring all stable equipment is clean and stored correctly.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or concerns regarding horse welfare to the Stable Manager.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines on the yard.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding manual labour.
- Reliability and excellent punctuality for morning shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine love for horses and understanding of their needs.
- Previous experience working with horses or in an animal care environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an equestrian yard or similar animal care setting.
- Knowledge of horse behaviour and basic equine first aid.
- Full UK driving license (advantageous for potential errands).
