Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Music Educator to join our high-demand district in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time position offers stable pay and the opportunity to inspire young minds through the joy of music. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging music lessons, fostering creativity, and building a strong foundation in musical literacy for students across elementary grades. You will be part of a collaborative team committed to providing an exceptional educational experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for elementary students.
  • Teach fundamental music concepts, rhythm, melody, harmony, and various instruments (e.g., recorder, percussion).
  • Lead vocal instruction, choir activities, and prepare students for performances.
  • Integrate music education with other subjects to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.
  • Manage and maintain musical instruments and classroom resources.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide events.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Music endorsement.
  • Proficiency in playing multiple musical instruments.
  • Strong understanding of child development and elementary teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Music Education.
  • Previous experience teaching elementary music.
  • Experience with diverse musical styles and cultural traditions.
