Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Expeditor to join our Akron team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and rapid flow of goods through our warehouse, from receiving to dispatch. You will identify and resolve bottlenecks, track shipments, coordinate with various departments, and maintain accurate inventory records to guarantee timely deliveries and uphold our commitment to customer satisfaction. This is an on-site position vital to our operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track the movement of inventory and shipments within the warehouse to ensure efficient flow and on-time delivery.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or bottlenecks in the receiving, storage, and shipping processes.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff, drivers, and other departments to prioritize urgent orders and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Maintain accurate records of all expedited shipments, including status updates and delivery confirmations.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory and shipment data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment statuses and any issues encountered.
- Implement and suggest improvements to existing expediting procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently when necessary, including forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if needed).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a warehouse, logistics, or related operational environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an expediter or in a similar coordination role.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Forklift certification or experience operating other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
