Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible opportunity to utilize your excellent listening and typing skills from the comfort of your own home? Rev.com is seeking detail-oriented 1099 Transcription Contractors to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote, independent contractor position where you control your schedule and choose the projects that fit your availability. Transcribe a variety of audio and video content, ranging from interviews and lectures to podcasts and film, helping our diverse clientele communicate more effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio and video files, ensuring high fidelity to the spoken content.
- Adhere strictly to Rev.com's style guide and client-specific instructions.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Proofread and edit your transcripts to ensure clarity and correctness.
- Meet project deadlines and manage your workload effectively.
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
Required Skills
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Proficient typing speed (minimum 60 WPM recommended) and accuracy.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to discern different speakers and accents.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable internet connection and a personal computer.
- Familiarity with transcription software or willingness to learn new tools quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in transcription, captioning, or data entry roles.
- Experience with specific industry terminology (e.g., medical, legal, technical).
- A quiet workspace conducive to transcription work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a remote setting.
