Job Description
Are you a motivated and friendly 14-year-old looking for your first job experience? Join the H-E-B family as a Bagger and become an essential part of our team! In this exciting entry-level role, you’ll gain valuable work experience by assisting customers with their grocery bagging needs, providing excellent customer service, and helping maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of our store. This position offers a dynamic environment where you’ll learn about retail operations and customer interaction, with potential to assist in our in-store fast-food or deli sections.
Key Responsibilities
- Neatly and efficiently bag groceries for customers, ensuring proper handling of items.
- Assist customers with carrying their purchases to their vehicles.
- Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and return them to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout lanes, bagging stations, and customer service areas.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service at all times.
- Support store team members with light stocking and fronting of shelves as needed.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment for all customers.
- Potentially assist in simple tasks within the in-store fast-food or deli areas, such as wiping down tables or restocking condiments.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds comfortably.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to attendance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
