Job Description
Are you a responsible, animal-loving teenager looking for your first job? PetSmart is launching a community program in Cedar Rapids seeking enthusiastic 14-year-olds to join our team as Dog Sitters. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop responsibility, and spend time with wonderful dogs! No prior experience is required – we’re looking for individuals with a genuine love for animals and a willingness to learn. You’ll be responsible for providing compassionate care to dogs in their local homes, ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for dogs in local homes as scheduled.
- Follow specific feeding instructions and administer medications if necessary (with training and parental consent).
- Engage dogs in play and exercise activities, including walks.
- Ensure dogs have fresh water and a clean environment.
- Communicate regularly with pet parents regarding their dog's well-being.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for the pets in your care.
- Report any concerns or issues immediately to PetSmart program coordinator.
Required Skills
- Must be 14 years old.
- Genuine love and compassion for dogs.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Responsible and trustworthy.

- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of animal behavior.
