Job Description
Join the Lowe’s team in Chesapeake as a Greenhouse Helper, specifically designed for 14-year-old teens looking for their first work experience. This part-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about plant care, develop responsibility, and contribute to our vibrant garden center. You’ll work alongside experienced team members in a supportive environment, focusing on keeping our plants healthy and our greenhouse well-maintained. No prior experience is needed – we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
Key Responsibilities
- Watering plants according to established schedules and plant needs.
- Assisting with basic plant care tasks, such as pruning dead leaves or repotting small plants.
- Organizing and tidying the greenhouse area, ensuring aisles are clear and plants are well-arranged.
- Helping unload and stock new plant deliveries under supervision.
- Notifying supervisors of any plant health issues or watering needs.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Enthusiasm for learning about plants and gardening.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including lifting small watering cans and standing for periods.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
