Job Description
As a FedEx Loss Prevention Associate, you will play a critical role in safeguarding company assets, preventing theft, and ensuring a secure environment within our retail and warehouse facilities in Brooklyn, NY. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing loss prevention strategies, conducting investigations, and collaborating with management and law enforcement when necessary. This position requires a vigilant, detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to security and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and conduct regular patrols to identify and deter suspicious activity.
- Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize inventory shrink and operational losses.
- Conduct investigations into suspected theft, fraud, and other security incidents, preparing detailed reports.
- Respond promptly to security alarms and emergencies, coordinating with appropriate personnel.
- Assist in training new employees on loss prevention awareness and security protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and store management on security-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety and security standards.
- Conduct bag checks and property inspections as per company policy.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or breaches in security infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field.
- Proven ability to operate CCTV and other surveillance equipment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Experience in a retail or warehouse environment.
- Certification in Loss Prevention (e.g., LPQ, LPC).
- Familiarity with local security regulations and protocols in New York.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
